Nail & Cuticle Oils

Nail and cuticle oil is a product that not only helps to nourish the surface of the nail, but also to soften the cuticle. As the cuticles are quite hard, cuticle oil softens them and prevents them from fraying. Nail oil should be used very frequently to ensure that the nails and cuticles look great. These oils are packed with a variety of vitamins that slow down the ageing process and protect the cells from damage.

Nails and Cuticles Strengthening Oil

As we have already mentioned, the cuticles are quite hard, so the first thing you should do when giving a manicure is to push them away with an orange wood stick. It is not recommended to cut the cuticles with scissors, as it is very easy to damage the cuticles and catch an infection. To make the cuticles even softer, it is advisable to moisten the cuticles with cuticle softener before doing all these steps (this will make the cuticles more supple and easier to handle). It is not advisable to use nail oil before the whole manicure procedure, as it discolours the nail and makes the whole job more difficult. In order to remove any remaining debris and nail fibres, an additional procedure can be carried out by using a milling cutter on which a silicone tip is applied to smooth the dry skin and the natural nail plate. In this way, polishing is carried out together with the nail oil. It is recommended that the nail oil is applied after the entire manicure procedure to ensure that the nails and cuticles are well moisturised and nourished.

However, nail strengthening oil should be used before nail varnishing with regular or long-lasting nail polishes!

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is very common in cosmetics because of its antiseptic properties. This oil is excellent for disinfecting the skin and strengthening its natural defences. It is an excellent remedy not only for dry skin on the face, but also for nails. Tea tree oil for nails is used when the nail is ingrown, unshiny or otherwise discoloured. This oil helps to restore the nail's colour and shine!

Castor Oil

Castor oil for nails is especially necessary for those with weak and brittle nails. The only important thing is that castor oil should be used regularly, 2-3 times a week. Make a castor oil bath for your nails: heat the castor oil and soak your nails in it (leave it for about 15-20 minutes). Afterwards, use a napkin to squeeze out the excess oil. The best time to do this is before going to bed!

Olive Oil

Olive oil for nails is suitable for all nail types: for those who complain of brittle nails, for those with yellowing nails, for those with dry cuticles, etc. Warmed olive oil is very moisturising, heated olive oil is an excellent oxidising agent that helps to moisturise the cuticles around the nails, and olive oil at normal temperature promotes nail growth. Olive oil is a versatile product, just make sure you know exactly what you need from it.
