Description

Peppermint essential oil (Mentha Piperita) is one of the most popular and widely known around the world since ancient Egyptian and Greek times. Its unique menthol scent creates a feeling of freshness and cleanliness. Peppermint tea is used in folk medicine for indigestion, cold symptoms or simply to invigorate. Essential oil is a concentrate extracted from parts of the plant, making it much stronger and more intense. It should only be used externally at home.

Peppermint essential oil:

  • - Has cooling, stimulating properties;
  • - Used as soon as the head starts to feel heavy or sore, as it can help prevent more intense pain;
  • - Gives energy, so is recommended to use during the working hours to maintain clear thinking;
  • - May help with digestive disorders (used externally);
  • - Can refresh your heated feet during summertime.

For those complaining of muscle stiffness or pain, for example after an intense workout, a relaxing massage with peppermint essential oil will help.

  • Directions:

    Peppermint oil should not be used with homeopathic remedies and should be kept away.

    Choose the desired intensity for steaming. For some 1 drop will be enough, others will want to add 3.

    Do not add more than 3 drops to the bath as it may cause skin tingling.

    Use with base oil for massages. For 30–50 ml add a couple drops.

    For cosmetic purposes use it according to the instructions for the chosen recipe. For instance, to treat acne-prone skin, you can prepare a steam bath with 1 drop of peppermint oil.

    The oil can be used to repel mosquitoes, ants, fleas, cockroaches and mice.

    Avoid using it before sleep as it may prevent you from falling asleep. Unless, of course, you need to remain vigilant.

    Peppermint essential oil is not recommended for kids or pregnant women, unless allowed by the doctor.

    How to combine with other oils?

    In duo with lavender essential oil, it will leave you invigorated and calm. It can be used for a compress as soon as a headache occurs. For indoor evaporation, combine it with lemon and/or tangerine oils. Used together with cedar oil, it will keep your closet fresh and protect against moths.

    Essential oils are not medicine. Their effects are researched and, due to the EU's control of health claims, we cannot provide a full description of their properties.
