Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis, from leaves) essential oil is one of the more popular in the aromatherapy field. Rosemary benefits for health have been recognised for a very long time, and its aroma and flavour are highly appreciated in cuisine around the world.

Rosemary essential oil:

  • - Reminds the scent of wood and has a uniquely intensive scent;
  • - Is attributed to the natural antiseptics;
  • - Was used in ancient Greek and Roman times to enhance memory. These days people also notice its positive effect on brain, so it’s great to use it in the workplace;
  • - Commonly used to prevent hair loss;
  • - In the folk medicine is recommended as a remedy for headaches.

This oil is recommended to vaporise at the onset of the cold season and when you have a cough or runny nose. Masseurs often use rosemary oil in cases of joint pain, muscle tension, so it’s recommended for athletes.

    This oil is very intensive, so use it carefully and only externally. Larger amounts can cause poisoning or other adverse bodily reactions.

    It can irritate skin, so don’t use on its own, dilute it with base oils. For hair care, use the conditioner you have. Add a drop to a small amount of conditioner and rinse your head skin. Wash it after a couple of minutes. You can add rosemary oil to coconut oil or any other, however it will be harder to rinse.

    Use 2-6 drops of the essential oil for vaporising. Choose the number of drops according to the intensity of the scent you want.

    Dilute your bath with a base oil to avoid irritating your skin.

    For adult massage, make a mixture of 2-4%.

    How to combine with other oils?

    Together with lavender and peppermint can be used for massages. Vaporising with lemon you will create a fresh environment and activate your brain. Combined with eucalyptus, it will enhance the beneficial effects for respiratory ailments.
