Justina Uždavinytė, the founder of the Pink Me Up studio, which recently opened its doors in the capital, is in a hurry to help those who turn their heads on how to not only remove the much-aged gel nail polish from natural and enlarged nails, but also how to repaint them properly.

In the modern but classic beauty salon founded by J.Uždavinytė, every woman feels like a princess: the pink interior in pastel colors creates a cozy atmosphere, therefore Justina, who has an international manicure certificate, very quickly has tamed the stars of our country's entertainment and business world. Famous faces gladly entrust her with her nails, and other salon masters with their hair. And now Justina wants every woman not only to feel unique in her Pink Me Up salon, so during the quarantine period she created a useful video on how to take care of her nails at home. Justina offers two ways to remove gel nail polish for natural nails and one for augmentation. They will also teach you how to properly paint them again with gel nail polish. The certified manicure master also reminds about the latest warm-season manicure trends: “Pink, peach and bluish nail polish shades reign at the top of manicure fashion charts. On the wave are also the graphic figures used in nail art and the silhouettes of flowers are still forgotten. Everyone chooses the shape of their nails individually, but it is increasingly being asked to form almond-shaped nails.”

How to remove gel nail polish at home?

Method 1. You will need:

· Files

· Gel polish solvent

· Orange tree sticks

· Foils

· Watts

Justina advises her manicurist to ask if the gel polish adorning her nails is soluble. “If so, disinfect your hands and grit your nails with a file to prevent the topcoat from shining. Try to remove as much nail polish as possible with a file, as it will take less time to keep them wrapped in solvent-soaked cotton wool and foil. Not only that, but the residues will also be removed much more easily. After removing part of the nail polish with a file, take a cotton swab moistened with solvent and place it on the nail, wrap in foil. Hold for five to fifteen minutes - see as much as recommended by the manufacturer of the solvent you are using. After removing the foil, gently remove the rest of the nail polish with an orange tree stick. If the nail polish still does not come off easily, repeat the procedure. Do not rub the varnish with force, as this will damage the nail plate. Do not forget to give the nails a shape, adjust the length. Finally, lubricate them with nourishing agents: oils, serums, and hands with body butter or hand cream.”

Method 2. You will need:

· Coarse file 180/240 grit (the more grit, the softer the file)

In the second way, Justina removes the gel nail polish with a file alone. “After disinfecting our hands, we grab the file and on the coarser side (180 grits), traveling from left to right, we remove the varnish. You can also press the file. After removing most of the material, we repeat the procedure, only on the softer side of the file (240 grits). Perform the procedure carefully so as not to damage the cuticles. We recommend leaving a small amount of base layer on the nail plate to avoid damaging the nail surface during the procedure. At the end of the procedure, treat your nails with special products and apply cream to your hands. "

Removal of gel nail polish from grown nails

You will need:

· Files 180/240 grits

· Files 100/180 grits

“After disinfecting your hands, start working and use a file to remove all the artificial material from which the nail was formed. Start with the coarser side of the file (100 grits), traveling from left to right. Press the file harder. After removing most of the material, repeat the same with the softer side of the file (240 grits). Carefully work the area around the cuticles. I recommend leaving some artificial material on the nail plate so as not to damage your natural nail plate. Shorten to a length you like, nourish your nails and hands and moisturize with cream or oils.”

Lacquer again!

You will need:

· UV, CCFL or LED nail lamps (Justina recommends LED)

· Files 180/240 grits

· Cuticle removers

· Cuticles repeller

· Nail degreaser

· Non-acidic base

· Mineral gel polish bases (three in one)

· Gel polish adhesive cleaner (it is also possible to use a liquid that removes grease from the nails, but make sure that it is not too strong and does not remove the shine of the nail polish)

After thoroughly disinfecting her hands, Justina initially offers to give her nails a shape. “Then apply the cuticle remover and wait for the recommended time according to the product manufacturer's recommendations. When the cuticles soften, push them away from the nail plate and remove. After this part of the procedure, I recommend washing your hands and wiping off excess grease from the nail plate with a special liquid. Then apply a non-acidic primer - it is important that it does not touch the cuticles and cover the nail with a mineral base in one thicker or two thinner layers. Stiffen the varnished nails in the lamp for 30 seconds and then cool them (about 1 minute), wipe the stickiness from the nail. Don't forget to treat your cuticles and nails with a dedicated oil and - voila, your nails are tidy and beautiful again!”
